Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about using Lengio.

What does Lengio need an internet connection for?

Most of Lengio works without a connection. Studying words, reviewing vocabulary, using the widget, and attaching your own photos all function locally once a language pack is downloaded.

A connection is required for: downloading a new language pack, the AI speech partner (which communicates with our AI service in real time), and App Store updates.

How do I download a language pack?

Open Lengio, go to Settings, and tap Language Packs. Select the language you want and tap Download. We recommend using Wi-Fi, as packs can be several hundred megabytes. Once downloaded, all content is available offline.

Can I learn more than one language at a time?

Yes. You can download as many language packs as you like and switch between them from the language selector on the home screen. Progress, bookmarks, and daily streaks are tracked separately per language.

How do I add my own photo to a word?

Open any word's detail card by tapping it, then long-press the word image and select Use My Photo. Choose an image from your photo library. Your photo is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded or shared.

The widget isn't showing on my home screen — how do I set it up?

Long-press your iPhone home screen until icons begin to jiggle. Tap the + button in the top-left corner, search for Lengio, and select a widget size. The widget displays your word of the day and daily phrase and refreshes automatically.

I missed a day — did I lose my streak?

Streaks reset if a day is skipped — but your vocabulary progress, bookmarks, and completed words are never deleted. You can continue exactly where you left off; the streak is simply a motivational layer on top of your real progress.

How do I change my daily word goal?

Go to Settings → Daily Goal inside the app. You can set a target between 5 and 50 words per day. Lengio uses this number to pace how many new words it introduces each session.

How do I delete my data?

All Lengio data lives on your device. To remove it:

  • Reset progress only — Settings → Reset Progress within the app
  • Remove everything — Delete Lengio via iOS Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Lengio → Delete App

If your device backs up to iCloud, Lengio data may be included. Manage this in your iOS iCloud settings.

How do I request a refund for an in-app purchase?

All purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, locate the Lengio purchase, and select Request a Refund. Apple typically processes refunds within 48 hours.

What iOS version is required?

Lengio requires iOS 16 or later. It runs on iPhone and iPad. Home screen and lock screen widgets are available on iPhone.

Is Lengio suitable for children?

Lengio is rated 4+ on the App Store and contains no objectionable content. However, we do not market the app to children under 13, and there are no features specifically designed for that age group.

Can I suggest a new language or feature?

Absolutely. Send language and feature suggestions to support@lengio.app with "Feature Request" in the subject line. We read all submissions, though we can't commit to timelines for specific requests.
